Terms of Service Page

By Josh M. 1 mins 1

The Terms of Service page in FaxStore provides a dedicated location for merchants to define the rules, policies, and conditions that govern the use of their store.

Accessible at /tos, this page acts as a standard legal and informational page that can be customised to suit the needs of each store.

The Terms of Service page is:

  • A built-in, public-facing page

  • Accessible via the /tos route

  • Fully editable by the merchant

  • Disabled or enabled via store settings

By default, the page contains no content and must be populated manually.

Purpose

The Terms of Service page is commonly used to outline:

  • Rules for using the store

  • Purchase conditions

  • Refund and dispute policies

  • Account responsibilities

  • Legal disclaimers

This ensures transparency with customers and helps protect the store operator.

Content & Formatting

Content for the Terms of Service page is written using Markdown and rendered as HTML when viewed.

Supported Content

  • Headings and structured sections

  • Paragraphs and lists

  • Links

  • Images

  • Embedded content (iframes)

Limitations

  • Code blocks are not supported

This allows merchants to create structured and readable legal documents directly within FaxStore.

Managing the Page

The Terms of Service page can be controlled through the staff settings panel:

Staff → Settings → Toggle Pages

From this section, the page can be:

  • Enabled (visible to customers)

  • Disabled (not accessible)

Editing Content

Merchants are responsible for providing their own Terms of Service content.

Since no default template is included, it is recommended to:

  • Write a custom Terms of Service tailored to the business

  • Use a legal template as a starting point if required

  • Ensure the content complies with applicable laws and regulations
