The FaxStore home page (index page) is fully configurable and allows various elements to be enabled, disabled, or customised to match the store’s layout and branding.

The home page supports themes/layouts and acts as the primary storefront for customers when visiting the site.

Overview

The home page includes the following configurable components:

• Featured product

• Featured category

• Search bar

• Image slideshow

• Customer reviews

• Store statistics

Each of these elements can be toggled on or off depending on the desired layout.

Featured Product

The featured product setting allows a single product to be highlighted on the home page.

• Can be set to:

  • None

  • Any existing product

• Displays the selected product prominently on the home page

If no product is selected, this section will not appear.

Featured Category

The featured category option allows a category to be highlighted instead of individual products.

• Can be set to:

  • None

  • Any existing category

• Displays:

  • Category name

  • Category description

  • Call-to-action button

Unlike product listings, this does not display individual products. It presents the category as a single block for navigation.

Store Category Notes

• Products can be organised under categories for better structure

• Discounts can be applied at the category level, affecting all products within it

• This is useful for grouping related items or promoting collections

Search Bar

The search bar can be enabled or disabled on the home page.

• When enabled:

  • Appears near the middle of the initial page view

  • Allows users to quickly search for products

Image Slideshow

The image slideshow allows visual banners or promotional media to be displayed. This can be toggled off by having no images present in the settings field.

Slideshow Images

Images must be provided as a comma-separated list of URLs.

Example:

https://example.com/image1.png,https://example.com/image2.jpg,https://example.com/banner.gif

Supported Formats

• WEBP (recommended)

• PNG

• JPG/JPEG

• GIF

• Any valid image source supported by an <img> tag

Behaviour

• Each image is displayed as part of a rotating slideshow

• If an image URL is invalid a grey background will be shown in its place

Reviews Section

The reviews section displays customer feedback on the home page.

• Shows 4 random reviews

• Each review includes:

  • Author name

  • Avatar

  • Star rating (out of 5)

  • First ~200 characters of the review

This helps build trust and showcase customer satisfaction on the first page a customer will see.

Statistics Section

The statistics section displays key store metrics.

Displayed statistics include:

• Total customers

• Total store items

• Total purchases

• Total accounts created

This section provides social proof and highlights store activity.

The home page layout may vary depending on the selected theme.

Each enabled component will render according to the active theme’s design and structure.
